LO2- Regulations and Ethics Considerations

Regulations that we may need to consider before filming our product would be: -Working with weapons, as  You must inform the police if you use any weapon (including replica and non-functioning weapons) in filming, even when shooting on privately owned land/locations.  Please contact us, so that we can connect you with the relevant organisations. - All children under “state school leaving age” (this maybe 16 or 18, depending on where you are filming) are required to be licensed by the child’s local education authority. This licence dictates the hours they are permitted to work, any special steps that need to be taken to protect the child, and other requirements. The local education authority for where the production is being shot should also be informed. Using a UK line producer who is familiar with the child licensing procedure will ensure that your production meets all its requirements. -Aerial filming and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) governs flight activities in...

LO4- Short film Feedback Analysis

Image
For our audience we got them to watch our short film and then asked them multiple questions. Everyone enjoyed the film which is the goal of making a film. From everyone saying they enjoyed the film and that the mice-en-scene was good we know that our film was put together well and didn't have parts in that made no sense at all. Some people said there was editing in the film that could've been improved. We can improve these post production faults by having the team going through the edit with the editor making sure that everything is up to standard and if there are faults that can't be fixed then to find a way around it properly instead of upping the audio to much that could make it sound unprofessional. We got told the wind was in the way of our audio, this problem could've been solved really easily by putting a wind protector on the mike for the outside scene making the wind less hearable if not cut out completely. We also could've turned the wind down with EQ in ...

LO3- Offline Edit

This was our original mind map. In this mind map we had the first scene which was the main character robbing a shop and then running out and getting hit by a car giving him the deadly six sins. As we went to 3 different shops and each shop said that we would be unable to film inside so we had to change the scene and make our character get knocked out in a different way. This ended up changing the plot of the film completely as we then changed our character to just be a bad person who committed crimes instead of a person who had a mental illness of the six deadly sins. Although the character changed we wanted to keep the scenes as similar as we could, the first scene which was a robbing scene, we changed from a shop to a house and had the main character robbing a house instead and then instead of getting hit by a car we had a ball be thrown at the robber and the robber dodging the ball and smacking his head on a brick wall causing him to be knocked out and put in a coma. Then the next i...

LO3- Audio Editing

Image
We used audio transition effects such as constant power and constant gain as a way to transition the sound and music we used in our film. We did this  because  it helped the music and  audio to flow well within the film so it didn't sound like the audio levels were dropping and rising constantly, it gave a nice effect and allowed audio to be heard with the music being at a good level. We used horror sounds to connote horror and to add thrill to the film itself, we did this at certain parts of the film where action was happening and bad things were going on, this is to over exaggerate the fact so the audience feel the horror and thrill more. We used adobe Audition to remove the ambient sound that the mic was picking up we then added our own sound to make the clip sound and look more fluid. We did this  because  the original sound  wasn't  as clean or smooth  because  we  didn't have a wind muffler of the mic, and wasn't...

LO3- Screenshots of defects and video timeline

Image
The software we used was premier pro this was  because  it was easy software to get your head around and  because  it contained the effects and transitions we needed for our short film. This is what the final video timeline looks like. we used effects such as dip to black and white as a way to transition to other scenes. Here we added a second clip of the main character staring into the mirror to show how  he's sinister  and changed the colour to give a horror effect to the clip, we also added music on top to  finalise  it.
